Differential Line Receiver – the practical use

The practical use of a line receive:

1. Index signal voltage conversion (5V TTL into  OC 24V)

Here we present the practical use of a differential line receiver – Index signal voltage conversion (5V TTL into  OC 24V).
Since some servo drives do not have a digital output of Index signal, what makes impossible to use the precise homing function in CSMIO/IP-S controller - we present the alternative solution.
In the diagram below you can see the situation where the index signal is taken directly from a servo drive encoder and converted into OC 24V signal by the differential Line Receiver (available in our online store). OC 24V signal can be easily connected directly to CSMIO/IP-S controller. You should remember to use a pull-up resistor.

2. Connection of an encoder with differential signal TTL 5V (RS422)  to a PLC with digital inputs 24V 

Here we present the practical use of a differential line receiver – Connection of an encoder with differential signal TTL 5V (RS422)  to a  PLC with digital inputs 24V.
Some PLC controllers PLC don't have typical encoder inputs so you can't use the standard TTL5V (RS422) encoders. Now you can see the alternative solution using differential Line Receiver (available in our online store).

In the diagram below you can see the situation where TTL5V (RS422) differential encoder signal is converted to OC 24V signal (pulls OC signal up to 24V through a 3.3kOhm resistor) with differential Line Receiver. After the conversion you can easily connect the OC 24V signal directly to a PLC, you should only remember about using pull-up resistors.
